Anita Merlo has now represented our family on two home purchases and one sale. Each time, we have found her professional, positive, and principled; a pleasure to work with.

When we initially consulted Anita about selling our house, she advised us to focus on maintaining and improving it while waiting for better market conditions. We were surprised, but trusted her advice: how many agents decline listings in the interest of their clients?

When the time came for us to list, Anita marketed our home with a comprehensive, targeted and attractive campaign. She showed our house regularly; followed up with prospective agents and buyers; and provided us with frequent feedback. Anita is a hard-working and effective selling agent.

Anita worked steadily and patiently to help us find both our first Toronto home and, more recently, an upgrade to suit our expanded family. She has actually dissuaded us from buying houses that don’t meet our criteria; ones we’d quickly outgrow; and those with asking prices above market value. How many agents counsel their clients to NOT make an offer? As a purchasing agent, we trust Anita to help us find not just any house, but the right house at the right price.

Whether you’re buying, selling, or both, we recommend Anita Merlo, without hesitation.

Buying or selling a house can be a stressful and emotional experience. Anita has helped me with selling and buying on several occasions and has made each transaction simple and relatively stress free. Thanks to Anita’s direct, honest and relaxed manner, I have always felt comfortable in the knowledge that she is working with my best interest in mind.

I would highly recommend Anita to anyone looking for a true professional who is trustworthy, reliable, competent and dedicated.

We have bought two homes under Anita's guidance and she most recently sold our first home. She has been SO patient with us as we searched and searched for our second home. We looked at countless houses and began to think that we would never find the right one. Anita remained positive throughout the whole search-her famous line- "More will come out!". She is a pleasure to deal with and she really cares about her clients. We would recommend Anita in a heartbeat! Thanks Anita!

I have been buying and selling homes under Anita's guidance for twenty years. The most difficult sell was shortly after my husband died and I really needed someone I could trust because I was doing it all for the first time on my own. We got caught in a bidding war on the sale and again on the purchase so I was most appreciative of Anita's knowledge and down to earth advice and always calm manner. Plus I like her sense of humour. Her advice extends beyond the real estate deal and expands to cover references for roofers, plumbers, painters etc as well as information on the new area. We were both at a party one Christmas and someone I'd just met said she's recently sold her house and had a great realtor. I asked her realtor's name and the woman couldn't remember it! I'll tell you this much: I'll always remember Anita's name and will faithfully recommend her and her services to everyone.

When I first met Anita, I knew right away that she was terrific at what she does. We sold my mother's house and subsequently bought another house. The whole process was as trouble-free as it could be with Anita's smooth and sophisticated, yet down-to-earth assistance and advice. When Anita got to know me a little more, she found out that I work at Frontier College, Canada's original literacy organization since 1899. At Frontier College, our mission is to help children, youth and adults reach their potential at home, at work, in school and in their communities through increased literacy skills. This goal spoke to Anita immediately as she understands how communities are built on the strength of the people who live in them. Anita has financially supported Frontier College since we met, over 9 years ago. She gives her time and her money and she recommends the organization to her friends and acquaintances. We are very honoured to have Anita as one of our on-going supporters, who understands the power of literacy for individuals and communities.

You were such a great help with my Mom's house. It was such an emotional time, I think for me the most, that you made it go back so smoothly. You were the first person I thought of when my Mom wanted to list the house. You were amazing. Thank you again so much.

Anita is a consummate professional. She was a trusted advisor throughout our house search and someone whom we felt was right in there with us in the long journey of finding the house for us. We felt we could count on Anita every step of the way in both the selling and buying of our house. She was the voice of optimism and encouragement when we felt discouraged. And she went beyond the call of duty at critical times which we greatly appreciated. We most definitely would turn to Anita for any of our real estate needs in the future.

When I see the word Community I see Anita Merlo. Anita has been a consistent and committed donor to Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter since 2006. She recognizes the struggles of women and children escaping violence and supports our efforts to end the violence forever. Not only has she donated much needed furniture and household supplies for women starting over, her monetary contributions ensures that we continue to assist all women in need of our services. Anita doesn’t wait for us to ask, this past August she came to us ready to help send the children residing at the shelter back to school, she bought school supplies and provided clothing gift cards. She knew how special the first day of school is for every child but also what children in a shelter might be experiencing during this very important moment during a very difficult time in their young lives. Anita on behalf of all the women, children and staff at EWS thank you for being the embodiment of Community”. Without people like you there is truly no way for us to end the violence forever.
